Sociology of the family is a subfield of sociology in which researchers and academics study family structure as a social institution and unit of socialization from various sociological perspectives. It can be seen as an example of patterned social relations and group dynamics .
She has an international reputation for her research on family life, work-life issues, and intergenerational relations. [ 1 ] She is seen as a pioneer of mixed method research [ 2 ] and an issue of the journal International Journal of Social Research Methodology was dedicated to a celebration of her contribution to the field.
