Law & Order: Criminal Intent is an American police procedural drama television series set in New York City, where it was also primarily produced. Created and produced by Dick Wolf and René Balcer , the series premiered on September 30, 2001, as the third series in Wolf's successful Law & Order franchise .
Law & Order: Criminal Intent premiered on NBC on September 30, 2001. Following a ratings decline, the series moved to the USA Network after the end of its sixth season. [3] [4] [5] CI continued with its seventh season on USA Network on October 4, 2007, and ended at its tenth season on June 26, 2011. [6] [7]
In February 2011, Jay O. Sanders joined the cast as Captain Joseph Hannah, replacing Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio (Captain Zoe Callas). Sanders has appeared in episodes of both the original Law & Order and L&O: Criminal Intent (in the second season episode Dead). [9] [10] Chris Brancato replaced Walon Green as show runner/executive producer.
He reunited with his Breaking Away "father" Paul Dooley, playing Dooley's son for a third time, in a 2003 episode of Law & Order: Criminal Intent. The two had first played father and son in Robert Altman's A Wedding (1978). In December 2006, he played Dr. Martin Ruber in the Sci Fi Channel miniseries The Lost Room.

He appeared in the American TV series FlashForward as villain Dyson Frost. He appeared as a hunter, Kubrick, on the series Supernatural in 2007.
