Kara (Korean: 카라; Japanese: カラ; often stylized in all caps) / ˈ k ɑːr ə / is a South Korean girl group formed by DSP Media in 2007. The group's current lineup is Gyuri, Seungyeon, Nicole, Jiyoung, and Youngji.
Kara has released nine studio albums (four in Korean and five in Japanese), eight compilation albums, seven extended plays, and twenty-eight singles. The group's debut studio album The First Blooming was released on March 29, 2007.

Details surrounding the album were accidentally leaked by a South Korean music store, who listed the album on their website before Universal Sigma had announced it. On July 29, 2013, Universal Sigma announced that Kara would be releasing a fourth Japanese album in August.
