I too got floaters after cataract surgery. Not right away though. I think cataract surgery is just traumatic to the eye and s**t can happen. At first I swatted at flies that were not there. My doctor sees nothing wrong. I see different size floaters. Most of them are like small dots, but get some bigger ones also.

For my right eye cataract surgery with a toric monfocal IOL 9 months ago the surgeon used a dropless method (actually reduced drops, to only 2drops/day for a few weeks) with an injection of antibiotic and steroid. I didn't notice any extra floaters after the surgery, I already had some very faint ones that I rarely notice now.

I had occasional floaters before surgery. They seemed fairly large, not dark, and out of focus. About 2-3 weeks after surgery I did notice a few smaller, darker, and I guess sharper particle looking things. I am 6 months out from surgery now, and I don't notice any at all.
Linda4738. I had a cataract removed in my left ( distance eye) 2 weeks ago and my distance vision is worse than before the surgery. I know the colors are brighter but I can't see to drive. It's worse in the mornings and gets a bit better in the afternoon. My doctor says there is a bit of inflammation still there and that is what's causing this.

I had PVD happen too but it was before my cataract surgery. Yeah, floaters. they say they should calm down a lot after 6 months. I hope they're right. The flyer the optometrist gave me says risk factors are being near sighted, cataract surgery, and inflammation inside the eye. Of course it probably won't happen to young people.
