Yesterday I upgraded my speed from 600 to 1200. Before the upgrade O was averaging between 600-700 mbps, and now averaging 200-250ish. I've talked to multiple customer service reps with no luck. I've restarted the gateways several time in the 2 days and no luck. I've tested the wifi using 4 different devices all with roughly the same slower speeds.

I upgraded my internet package from extreme 400 down/20 up to extreme pro 800 down/20 up. When doing speed tests I am still getting the same speed as before the upgrade. (400-450 Mbps down) I am using a Motorola MB 8600 and it says it’s compatible with the new package. Ive tried connecting directly to the modem with the same results.
dgtangman. Just to close this out - The upgrade should generally take effect immediately, no significant delay. It took some work, with Xfinity support on DM, but I was finally able to determine that I was actually getting the expected speed at the modem. My old Netgear 802.11N router was the choke point.

So I get an email about my internet speed being updated and saying my current cable modem is obsolete so they say. That I’m not getting the most out of the service, blah blah blah and consider upgrading it. Honestly, I don’t know the difference because I barely experience any crashes or slowness and think it’s a money grab.
