HMS Euryalus was a Cressy-class armoured cruiser built for the Royal Navy around 1900. Badly damaged by multiple accidents while fitting out , she was not completed until 1904. She became flagship of the Australia Station that year and was reduced to reserve upon her return in 1905.

The Cressy-class cruiser was a class of six armoured cruisers built for the Royal Navy around 1900. Their design's incorporation of a pair of 9.2-inch guns and armoured sides served to address criticism directed against the previous Diadem class — advances made possible by their 1,000 ton increase in displacement over their predecessors.

Euryalus was launched on 6 June 1963, and commissioned on 16 September 1964. This Euryalus was the sixth of the name and had a strong liaison with the Lancashire Fusiliers , whose motto ( Omnia Audax ) she bore from the 4th Euryalus landing its 1st Battalion at W Beach, Gallipoli , where the Regiment "won six Victoria Crosses before breakfast".
