Rukia Kuchiki (Japanese: 朽木 ルキア, Hepburn: Kuchiki Rukia) is a fictional character in the anime and manga series Bleach created by Tite Kubo.In the series, she is a Soul Reaper, (死神, Shinigami, literally 'Death God'), in charge of slaying and eradicating corrupted souls called hollows, whose unfortunate fate lies destined for ruthless killing and feeding of living beings.

Meanwhile, Ulquiorra meets Ichigo to inform him of Rukia's death. Ichigo attempts to leave to save Rukia, but Ulquiorra goads him into fighting by revealing that he was the person who forced Orihime to come to Hueco Mundo. Furious, Ichigo uses his bankai, dons his hollow mask and prepares to fight Ulquiorra in anger.
Ichigo has been struggling against hollows, due to gradually losing his temporarily restored powers, but is saved by Rukia and Uryū, who tell him to rest from dealing with hollows. It is shown that Ukitake contacted Rukia to prevent Ichigo from fighting hollows. The next day, Ichigo takes Rukia to an ice skating rink with their friends.
