Saint Julian's (Maltese: San Ġiljan) is a town in the Eastern Region of Malta. As of 2020, its registered number of inhabitants stands at 13,792. [ 2 ] It is situated along the coast, north of the country's capital, Valletta .
Spinola Palace (Maltese: Palazz ta' Spinola; Italian: Palazzo Spinola), also known as Spinola House [2] and Villa Spinola, [3] is a palace in St. Julian's, Malta.It was built in the 17th century by Fra Paolo Rafel Spinola, a knight of the Order of St. John, and was enlarged in the 18th century.
Saint George's Tower is located at St. George's Bay, St. Julian's. Its site was originally occupied by a medieval watch post. [1] It appears in maps of the period of the Knights at Cala S. Giorgio (St Georeg’s Point). [2] The tower remained in use during the British period but was converted to a Fire Control Station once Fort Pembroke was built.
Saint Julian's Tower was built in 1658 to protect St. Julian's Bay. It follows the standard design of the De Redin towers , having a square plan with two floors and a turret on the roof. It has Saint George's Tower in its line of sight to the west, and the capital Valletta to its east.
The present church, which is a prominent landmark in St Julians, dates from the early to the mid 20th century. [1] The original Carmelite church was a small neo-gothic chapel which was built in 1859 on plans by Giuseppe Bonavia .

The Dragonara Casino was the first casino in Malta, and this was a major step in establishing Malta as a tourist destination. [12] In the 1990s, The Westin Dragonara hotel was built on part of the palace's gardens. [13] The casino was privatized in 1999, and the company Dragonara Casino Ltd was set up to run the business for 10 years. [14]
