Difference between TEMPSTAR AC Mainline and Entry (non-branded) I have read some good opinions on Tempstar condenser units, being quiet and reliable. However, my contractor quoted me for the Entry (non-branded) unit: N-2A324AKA instead of their Mainline T-2A324GKA. He explained the Mainline only has better warranty, but costs significantly more ...
The Tempstar is higher efficiency models then the Goodman you have posted. For a more apples to apples comparison you need to be quoted the Goodman GMV95***** furnace with the Goodman SSX14***** condensing unit. Then the Goodman will be a 95% efficient furnace with a 14 SEER R410a cooling system. As it is quoted, the Tempstar system is a higher ...
I am thinking of a 13 seer w/variable air handler for comfort and humidity control. Bids include: Lenox 13 HPX,w/CBX32MV, York AVY36C3XH21 w/YZE03611 on the higher end. Trane 4TWR3036A1000A w/TAM7A0C36H31SA in the middle and a Tempstar is on the way. Which equip is best and do I need more returns for a 3 ton system?
The Tempstar is a AHRI match, gives you 14 SEER ( number 9833296 ) 11.5 EER. Looks to be a bare bone unit, no outdoor coil protection, no pressure safety controls. What is the complete model number of the AS indoor and OD unit. Thanks for the reply! Both include 2 year labor 10 year parts warranty.
Yes, Carrier and family using LG compressors, so is Lennox/Allied and Trane/American Standard. No faluires on A-S LG, but had a few on Allied units. ICP units are pretty much identical except cosmetics on "mainline" outdoor units. Mechanically the same as Carrier & family. So will hard to get away from your problems.
Especially sizing, everyone thinks bigger is better. I agree with amd, choosing the right contractor means more than brand. That said, RUUD has ranked higher on consumer reports the last few times than Tempstar. Doesn't make Tempstar bad, just answering your question with a fact.
Tempstar 16 seer R-410 two stage split system. Condenser T4A436GKD. Air Handler FVM4X4800A. 2nd: Amana 16 seer R-410 two stage split system. Condenser ASZ160361. Air Handler AEPF313716. 3rd: The other was for a Rheem 15.5 SEER system - but the contractor did not write down the model numbers.
Right now I know Tempstar has no- hassle warranties and 10 year parts warranty special going on with all condensers. Tempstar is a really great product, we have put in a lot of systems in the last few years with very few issues. They are very quiet, tough, and dependable products. You will be well pleased.
Maratherm is made by ICP. Exactly the same as Day and Night, Heil, Comfort Maker, Tempstar and so on. When you guys bash a brand then spell the specs and why a certain brand is inferior based on the components. Maratherm has the same coil tubing, compressor, fan motor, relay, capacitor, fan blade and housing as all of the brands above.
