post #3 of 12. A standard serving of cake is 8 cubic inches. Therefore, a cake that is 2" tall, would also have to be 2" wide by 2" wide. 2" X 2" X2" = 8 cubic inches. Square and rectangular cakes are the easiest to compute servings. A 2" tall 12 X 18 would be cut 6 pieces by 9 pieces, or 54 pieces. "Fun with math."

Or make the horizontal cut, slide a cookie sheet pan (the kind with no lips or edges) in between the layers and lift off. Definitely a board or even a no ...

A true commercial full sheet (16" x 24") serves 96 (unit wt. 106-124 oz.). If this size pan doesn't fit in your oven, and you are baking two 12" x 18" (54 serving) half sheets, they would serve 108 total. Wonderful info thanks for taking the time to post this! tracycakes Posted 7 Jun 2010 , 5:02pm.

Most of us use a pan that is 12x16x2 OR 12x18x2 and bake up two of them to put on one board side by side. 2 of the 12x16s fit on a full size cake board which fits in the full sheet box. The 12x18s leave you NO room for a bottom border :( I rather doubt your pan is going to fit in your kitchen oven.

ChefAngie Posted 11 Oct 2007 , 4:45pm. post #24 of 37. I charge $110 for a full sheet (2-11"x15") side by side. This cake is heavy and I do not like to pick up a cake and it bends in the center-the cake board -3 cardboards hot glued together and then covered with foil matching the cake. The cake box is $3.00-$4.00.

  11. How Big Is 1/2 Sheet Cake? Confused!!! - CakeCentral.com

    www.cakecentral.com/forum/t/87931/how-big-is-12-sheet-cake...

Here is a bump! 1/2 is approx. 12x18 but it varies from place to place. 1/3 is approx. 11x15 and 1/4 is 9x13 HTH. I found this on Yahoo - "A full sheet cake is 18" x 24", and will serve 70 to 80 people. A 1/4 sheet cake is 9" x 12". That means a 1/2 sheet should be 12" x 18" and serve 35 to 40 people I think.
