The Midland Football League, officially known as the Capelli Sport Midland Football League [1] since January 2025 for sponsorship reasons, is an English football league that was founded in 2014 by the merger of the former Midland Alliance and Midland Combination. [2] The league has four divisions that sit at levels 9–12 of the football pyramid.

The club was founded in 1877, [2] as Thornhill Football Club (later 'Thornhill United'), before, in 1905, changing to Rotherham County. [3] It joined the Midland League in 1903, [3] and stayed in that competition until it was abandoned for World War I.
Founded in 1884, Lincoln City F.C. won the Midland League in 1889–90, their first full season playing league football. They moved on from the Football Alliance to become founder members of the Football League Second Division in 1892, remaining there until they failed re-election in 1908.
