Ambrogio Lorenzetti (Italian pronunciation: [amˈbrɔːdʒo lorenˈtsetti]; c. 1290 – after 9 August 1348) [1] [2] was an Italian painter of the Sienese school. He was active from approximately 1317 to 1348.
The most famous of the secular frescoes are three panels in the series on government in the Hall of the Nine (also known as Sala della Pace) by Ambrogio Lorenzetti. These frescoes are collectively known as The Allegory of Good and Bad Government. The Allegory of Good Government depicts the personification of Justice as a woman.
