The Scioto Greenway Trail is a multi-use greenway trail in Columbus, Ohio, United States. [1] The route is along the downtown riverfront on the east and west sides of the Scioto River . It is the first such bike trail to have been built in Columbus.
Located near Lewis Center, the park was named for large shale bluffs that overlook the Olentangy River. Within the park is a large nature center, a sledding hill, a Natural Play Area where off trail activity is permitted, Adena culture mounds, and the Edward F. Hutchins State Nature Preserve.
The Long Path, a 357 mi (575 km) long-distance hiking trail that starts near the George Washington Bridge and ends in Albany, is contiguous with these trails. It comes from the south via Devil's Path, continues on the Overlook Trail, heads south on Platte Clove Road for 860 ft (262 m) and then heads north on Huckleberry Point Trail.
The park features four trails: the Hermit Thrush Trail has 0.125 miles through forest, the Columbus Rotary Running Track is 0.5 miles, and the Wetland Trail is 0.4 miles.
