[1] He is also the former owner and co-founder of N9NE Group and the son of Arnie Morton, the founder of the Morton's Steakhouse.

In the 1970s, he and Klitsch opened several successful ventures in Chicago's Newberry Plaza including Arnie's on Chicago's Gold Coast ; [ 4 ] the seafood restaurant LaMer; [ 7 ] and the disco/night club Zorrine's (named after Morton's wife).

Morton is the son of Arnie Morton, founder of the Morton's Steakhouse chain. [1] His father was of Jewish descent. [2] In 1969, he graduated from the University of Denver with a B.S.B.A. in restaurant and hotel management. [3] His twin sister is Pam Morton; and his half-brother is restaurateur and businessman Michael Morton.
