Curly Lambeau was born April 9, 1898, in Green Bay, Wisconsin, [1] to Marcelin Lambeau and Mary LaTour, both of Belgian descent. [2] Lambeau attended Green Bay East High School, where he was identified as a standout athlete. [3] He played for the football team all four years of high school and was named captain in 1917 as a senior.
Monfils was elected to the Green Bay City Council and the Brown County, Wisconsin Board of Supervisors in 1972 and 1974. He was elected Green Bay mayor in 1975 and served until 1979.
