Conneaut (/ ˈ k ɒ n i ɔː t / [4] KON-ee-awt) is the northeastern most city in Ashtabula County, Ohio, United States, as well as the entire state as a whole. Located in the Cleveland metropolitan area , it is settled along Lake Erie at the mouth of Conneaut Creek 66 miles (106 km) northeast of Cleveland .
WWOW first launched in 1959. The station operated at that time with a daytime-only power of 500 watts, with studios and offices at 211 Main Street in Conneaut, Ohio. The construction permit for WWOW was first issued in November 1957. In 1967, WWOW applied for pre-sunrise authorization, allowing it to sign on two hours prior to local sunrise.
