Cardiff is a hamlet in Onondaga County, New York, United States, located south of Syracuse. It was named after Cardiff, the capital of Wales. [1] It was the site of the William C. "Stub" Newell farm where the "Cardiff Giant", a famous hoax, was "discovered" on October 16, 1869.

The museum has more than 23,000 artifacts reflecting 19th century farm life in central New York. [2] They are housed in over two dozen buildings across the campus. [3] The museum also includes working exhibits. There are skilled workers printing real documents, such as the rules of baseball, at the print shop, and weavers producing cloth at looms.

It gives visitors a hands-on approach to science and includes a science theatre, a planetarium, and an exhibition space with over 100 interactive exhibits aimed at visitors of all ages. Techniquest was founded in 1986 by Professor John Beetlestone (1932–2016) and his colleagues from Cardiff University. [ 2 ]
