The National Museum of Taiwan History (NMTH; traditional Chinese: 國立臺灣歷史博物館; simplified Chinese: 国立台湾历史博物馆; pinyin: Guólì Táiwān Lìshǐ Bówùguǎn) is a museum in Annan District, Tainan, Taiwan, covering the history of the island nation of Taiwan and its associated islands.
A "National Museum of Historical Artifacts and Fine Arts" was established in a Japanese style building near the Taipei Botanical Garden in 1955. It was renamed "National Museum of History" in 1956 and the building was renovated in a five-floor traditional Chinese Ming and Qing palace style, with four floors for exhibition and staff offices, and one floor for storage.
The soft opening of the museum was done on 26 December 2018. The ceremony was attended by Vice Culture Minister Lee Lien-chuan and a group of Siraya people . [ 1 ] It was constructed with a cost of NT$1.5 billion. [ 2 ]
