ERT1 (Greek: ΕΡΤ1, "ERT Ena"), [1] is a Greek free-to-air television channel owned and operated by state-owned public broadcaster Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation (Greek: EPT – Ελληνική Ραδιοφωνία Τηλεόραση).
The Hellenic Radio (Greek: Ελληνική Ραδιοφωνία; or ERA) is the main public radio broadcaster in Greece. Founded in 1987 as a subsidiary of public broadcaster Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation (ERT), it broadcasts four domestic radio channels and the international shortwave radio channel Voice of Greece .
ERT began broadcasting in 1938 as the Radio Broadcasting Service or YRE (Υπηρεσία Ραδιοφωνικής Εκπομπής, ΥΡΕ).Following a government decision, the original company was abolished on 11 June 2013, [1] with its 2,656 employees protesting against the closure [2] and continuing broadcasting via a satellite transmission using European Broadcasting Union equipment. NERIT Macedonia (102 FM) (Greek: NΕΡIΤ Μακεδονίας (102 FM), NERIT Makedonias) was the fifth public radio channel of Greece's state broadcaster, ERT. The programme consisted of broadcasts about civilization of Macedonia, News, the regional music show Noah's World, and music blocks. The radio broadcast only in Greek Macedonia.
As of June 12, 2013, was disestablished under an order of the Greek Government, as part of austerity measures, along with all of ERT's former TV and radio channels; ET1, NET, ET3, ERT World and the radios ceased to operate from the morning of Wednesday 12 June. As of 3 May 2016, ERT world broadcasts again on Europe.
So ERT came back together with the channels: ERT1, ERT2 and ERT HD and the radio stations: Proto, Second and Third Programme, Kosmos 93.6, ERA Sport, Voice of Greece, ERT3's radio station Macedonia (102 FM, 95.8 FM) and its 19 regional radio stations on 11 June 2015 with a renewed programme, 95.8 FM).
