By 1811, Hageman had departed for Indiana and the name Milford had come into prominent use, attributed to the newspaper changing it in February 1806 because it was the first safe ford north of the Ohio River to cross the Little Miami River.

John William Hamilton was an American bishop of the Methodist Episcopal Church, elected in 1900. He was the chancellor of American University from 1916 until 1922. He was the older brother of Franklin Elmer Ellsworth Hamilton , who was also both a Methodist Bishop and the Chancellor of American University.

In 1990, Church of the Resurrection started as a small church with a goal to welcome thinking people not actively involved in a church. Resurrection met for its first worship service in McGilley Funeral Home, with approximately 10 people in attendance. By 1992, attendance grew and the church began meeting at Leawood Elementary School.
