Originally only known as Mueang district, the district was renamed Sateng in 1917 to share the name with the central sub-district. [1] In 1938, the district was renamed Mueang Yala to conform with the common name of the central districts of a province.
Yala province is in southern Thailand. The highest point of the Sankalakhiri Range (Northern Titiwangsa Mountains), the 1,533-meter (5,030 ft)-high Ulu Titi Basah (ฮูลูติติปาซา), is on the Thai/Malaysian border between Yala province and Perak. [7]
The club was formed and registered on 4 August 2018 in Yala as the southernmost football club in Thailand. [2] It initially competed in Thailand Amateur League Southern region.
