Geocaching (/ ˈ dʒ iː oʊ k æ ʃ ɪ ŋ /, JEE-oh-KASH-ing) is an outdoor recreational activity, in which participants use a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver or mobile device and other navigational techniques to hide and seek containers, called geocaches or caches, at specific locations marked by coordinates all over the world. A Travel Bug is a dog tag used in Geocaching. Produced by Groundspeak, the bugs can be moved from cache to cache, with unique tracking numbers allowing their movements to be tracked through the company's geocaching website. Some tags are fastened to an object, known as a "hitchhiker", before they are released into a cache.
