Lobby The hall. Roy Thomson Hall is a concert hall in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Located downtown in the city's entertainment district, it is home to the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir, and the esports team Toronto Defiant. Opened in 1982, its circular architectural design exhibits a sloping and curvilinear glass exterior.

Massey Hall was designated a National Historic Site of Canada on June 15, 1981. [2] The hall closed in July 2018 for a two-year-long renovation including a new seven-storey addition and two smaller concert rooms. It re-opened in 2021. It is operated by The Corporation of Massey Hall and Roy Thomson Hall, a non-profit charitable organization. [3]
The concert hall was opened in 1982. The Princess of Wales Theatre was built in 1993 by Mirvish Productions . In 1982 Roy Thomson Hall opened at King and Simcoe, becoming the new home of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra thus expanding entertainment options in the neighbourhood beyond partying at the Twilight Zone.
