Lewisville Independent School District (LISD) is a 127-square mile school district based in Lewisville, Texas covering all of Lewisville, The Colony, Highland Village, Double Oak, and Copper Canyon, as well as portions of Flower Mound, Carrollton, Frisco, Plano, Argyle, Coppell, Grapevine, and Hebron.

Shepton High School opened in 1984 at its current location. To accommodate the growth in the city, it moved to a larger facility from 1990-1998, located on Parker Road (and the current location of Plano West Senior High School). Shepton has since moved back to its original location and undergone many renovations to the building.
