The Poinsett Hotel, or Westin Poinsett Hotel, is a twelve-story, landmark hotel in downtown Greenville, South Carolina, one of the first skyscrapers in Greenville. Named for Joel R. Poinsett, Secretary of War under President Millard Fillmore, the Poinsett replaced an earlier resort hotel, the Mansion House, built in 1824.
Imperial Hotel, currently known as Greenville Summit, is a historic hotel building located at Greenville, South Carolina. It was built in 1911–1912, and is a seven-story, U-shaped skyscraper with a buff-colored brick veneer over a steel frame. It was originally a 90-room hotel, and expanded by 1930 to 250 rooms.
The Chick brothers sold the property in 1857. On the afternoon of November 4, 1862, the hotel caught fire and burned to the ground.
