The Waumbek Cottages Historic District encompasses a collection of high-quality summer resort houses in Jefferson, New Hampshire.Located on Cottage Road and Starr King Road, these six "cottages" are all that survive of a large late-19th century resort complex that once included a hotel and eleven cottages.
Whateley Hall (not to be confused with Whately Hall in Banbury) was a stately home in the Warwickshire countryside near Castle Bromwich. The owners of the house were the Newtons of Glencripesdale Estate, who also owned Barrells Hall. Whateley Hall was demolished in 1935, and a housing estate was built on the grounds.
The Newport Downtown Historic District encompasses the 19th century heart of Newport, New Hampshire, the county seat of Sullivan County.The district includes the major commercial and civic (current and former) buildings which line Main Street between Depot Street and the Sugar River. [2]
The most prominent building is probably the Wentworth Castle, which is on the hillside above the Wentworth Hall resort hotel complex. Completed in 1891, it was designed by New York architect William Bates. The district also includes Jackson's 1901 library building, old (1897) town hall, and a community church built in 1846–47. [2]
The Lovell Grange Hall was built in 1918 for a chapter organized in 1892. It is a rectangular wood frame clapboarded structure mounted on concrete piers. The old portion of Wakefield Library building began as a lawyer's office in the 1860s, and was acquired by the town in 1895 as a gift from Seth Low .
Hill-Woodman-Ffrost House (Three Chimneys Inn - ffrost Sawyer Tavern), ca. 1649, one of the oldest houses in New Hampshire. Prominent buildings in the district include Durham's town hall (a c. 1825 brick building) and town office building (a c. 1860 vernacular house), and the Durham Community Church, built in 1848–49, which is the focal point of the Main Street section of the district.

The Dorchester Community Church was built in 1828, and the (now former) town hall in 1844, on the site of the town's first (1828) town hall. [2] The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985; [ 1 ] the church was also separately listed in 1980.
