It is called "Dutch" from Deutsch, i.e., "German", as it was the southern center of German-American settlement in St. Louis in the early 19th century. Dutchtown is a census-designated place (CDP) and former village in Cape Girardeau County, Missouri, United States, located at the intersection of Routes 25 and 74. The population was 163 at the 2020 census. It was part of the Cape Girardeau–Jackson, MO-IL Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Rhineland is in southern Montgomery County, 1.5 miles (2.4 km) north of the Missouri River. Missouri Route 94 passes through the former location of the village, at the base of the hill on which the village now sits. The city of Hermann is 5 miles (8 km) to the southeast, across the Missouri via State Highway 19.
