The Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) is an annual film festival organized by the Metro Manila Development Authority [1] and held nationwide in the Philippines. The festival, which runs from Christmas Day through New Year's Day and into first weekend of January in the following year, focuses on Filipino produced films .
The 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) is the 50th edition of the annual Metro Manila Film Festival. During the festival, no foreign films are shown in Philippine theaters (excluding IMAX and 4D theaters).
It is organized by the Film Development Council of the Philippines. Similar to the Metro Manila Film Festival, only shortlisted films will be shown in cinemas except in select 3D cinemas, VIP cinemas (in an opt-in/opt-out basis by developer) and IMAX theaters. The movies are classified into 3 categories.
The organizing committee, headed by veteran Filipino director and actress Laurice Guillen, oversees the production of the films and the festival. [3] In 2023, the festival was held from August 4 to August 13, at the Philippine International Convention Center and in select mall cinemas. [4]
