Queen City Landing was an approved residential tower proposal by developer Gerald Buchheit on the Outer Harbor of Buffalo, New York.Preparation work included the demolition of a 6-story warehouse formerly operated by Freezer Queen Foods and the project was planned to have approximately 200 apartment units. The construction of the Buffalo Naval and Servicemen's Park (later named the Buffalo and Erie County Naval & Military Park) started in 1977. The park was opened to the public on July 4, 1979. [ 2 ] The Cleveland -class cruiser USS Little Rock and the Fletcher -class destroyer USS The Sullivans were part of the original display. [ 1 ]

The Dunkirk Lighthouse also worked in collaboration with the Dunkirk Pier-head light, guiding ships into the Dunkirk harbor. The assistant lighthouse keeper manned the pier-head light. There have been five total towers that have served as the pier-head light. The first two were destroyed by ice from the lake.
In April 2011, Erie Canal Harbor Development Corporation approved a grant of $170,700 to repair and restore the lighthouse in anticipation of public tours. The work was completed in August 2011. References
Wooden Nameboard from Steamship J. B. Ford on display at the Buffalo Harbor Museum in Buffalo, N.Y. The Ford was moved to a storage dock awaiting orders to scrap the vessel. The scrapping of the E. M. Ford, and the attempts to save that ship in 2008, generated public interest in the old steamers. [5]
