Off the Record is the fifth studio album by the English glam rock band Sweet. It was recorded at Audio International Studios in London between October 1976 and January 1977. The band produced with assistance from engineers Louis Austin and Nick Ryan. It peaked at No. 151 on the Billboard 200. [2]
The Sweet is a compilation album released as Sweet's debut album in the US and Canada, substituting for the 1971 UK album Funny How Sweet Co-Co Can Be. (The band's second album, Sweet Fanny Adams was also not given a US release, but tracks from that and the band's third album Desolation Boulevard were combined on the US version of that album to compensate for this.) The album artwork was designed by the American artist Joe Petagno, who had already designed the previous Sweet album Strung Up (1975). The original LP cover was released with a die-cut cover that caused the eye to wink as the sleeve was removed and placed back into the cover.
In Italy it was released as two separate albums - the studio set entitled Strung Up (released 1975) and the live set entitled Live In England (1976). Until the 2016 Sony/RCA release, the album had been re-issued on CD only in the United States in 1997 on Chinebridge Records and in Japan (as Anthology). These releases include the standard album ...
Live in Denmark 1976 is a live album by the British glam rock band Sweet, released in 1998. The album is a recording of a concert at Fyens Forum, Odense on 7 May 1976. In 2010 the album was reissued as Live in Concert Denmark 1976 on the ZYX Music label.
