The 2024–25 NCAA Division I Independent men's ice hockey season is the 131st season of play for varsity ice hockey in the United States. The regular season began on October 4, 2024, and conclude on March 1, 2025. [1]
In 2015, the organization added a Tier III junior team to the North American 3 Eastern Hockey League (NA3EHL). [2] The team finished last in the East Division with a 9–32–3 record. In 2016, the NA3EHL was merged into the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) and the Tier III Generals followed. [3]

The following is a list of the 64 schools that fielded men's ice hockey teams in NCAA Division I in the most recent 2023–24 season, plus the 44 schools that fielded women's teams in the de facto equivalent of Division I, the NCAA's National Collegiate division. The most successful team in the college's history was the men's ice hockey team, which was cut in 2003. [15] However, MCLA will have men's and women's hockey teams beginning to compete again in the 2023-24 academic year. [16]
