City Park is a neighborhood of the city of New Orleans, US.A subdistrict of the Lakeview District Area, its boundaries as defined by the City Planning Commission are: Allen Toussaint Boulevard to the north, Bayou St. John to the east, Orleans Avenue, North Carrollton Avenue and Toulouse Street to the south and City Park and Orleans Avenues to the west.
The area around Bayou St. John and Orleans is a famous gathering place for the Downtown Mardi Gras Indian tribes. Across the Bayou, the old American Can Factory building was renovated into apartments and shops at the end of the 20th century. Continuing back, the Ward includes a slice of Mid-City New Orleans.

The upper boundary was the New Basin Canal, now Pontchartrain Boulevard, across which is the 17th Ward. The lower boundary is the Orleans Canal, across which is more of the 5th Ward.

Canal Boulevard is a prolongation of Canal Street [1] which runs from the Mississippi River to City Park Avenue. As New Orleans expanded, the area of Lakeview was 'reclaimed' cypress swampland.
