During my attempts to fix the issue with DirectX I discovered I had the June 10 Redist on a lot of install folders for Steam games and none of them attempted to install it - I assume because of newer versions of DirectX having been installed, which leads me to wonder why Epic didn’t make the DirectX install for their launcher optional if a ...
It seems that the “(x86)” in “C:\Program Files (x86)\Epic Games\4.10\Engine\Build\BatchFiles\Rebuild.bat” somehow messes up the command, because the brackets have a special meaning. If it’s possible, try updating the launcher; Uninstall the launcher and reinstall it; Try reinstalling the launcher on a different drive (if you have multiple drives on your computer) If none of these work you can download UE4 directly without the launcher using github.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Epic Games Launcher, I rebooted before and after, to no avail. someone on reddit suggested opening my NVIDIA control panel and restoring Global Defaults. I did this and was able to at least log in and click on the Unreal tab at the left. It said I needed to install Unreal Engine 5.2.3.
