Jessie, That is the description of normal liver tissue. Homogenous means same appearance, which is good. Heterogenous would mean some areas looked different than others, and is usually an indication of something go
For one the homogenous echotexture means that the tissue of the liver is smooth as it should be. It does not have abnormal scarring or nodularity. Secondly the absence of a discrete mass means that there is no sign of a tumor.
That is good news..: Normal size is good. Homogenous=all areas look similar. Parenchyma here just mean the liver tissue itself. No focal mass means no mass is seen in any area. All of these are just fancy words telling you that you have a normal liver based on the ultrasound findings. So, this is actually good news. Consult doc and good luck.
OK--sorry for all the questions. Basically you have what's called a fatty liver and your liver enzymes may or may not be elevated at this time. It's not hepatitis or cirrhosis and usually can be treated with proper diet and weight loss if needed and avoidance of alcohol or medications with acetaminophen in them like Tylenol.
