Clowes (/ k l uː z /) Memorial Hall, which opened in 1963, was co-designed by noted Indianapolis architect Evans Woollen III, of Woollen, Molzan and Partners, and John M. Johansen, a well-known architect who established his practice in New Canaan, Connecticut.
The Hilbert Circle Theatre, originally called the Circle Theatre, is in Indianapolis, Indiana, on Monument Circle in the Washington Street-Monument Circle Historic District. It was originally built in 1916 as a "deluxe movie palace" and now is the home of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. [2]: 2–3
The theater portion of the building is now known as the Murat Theatre at Old National Centre or simply the Murat Theatre and houses the oldest extant stage house in downtown Indianapolis. It is the only Shrine Center in the world with a name of French origin and is the largest Shrine Center in North America. [1] [2]

Among the better-known actors that have performed multiple times at the theatre are Priscilla Lindsay, former Assistant Artistic Director, Scott Wentworth, a founding member, and John Henry Redwood, who would later pass away when touring a one-man show, he premiered in 2001 at Indiana Repertory.
The new center replaced the Student Union Building which was demolished shortly after its completion. The center included a brand-new bookstore, credit union, a food court, and other student activities services. The center also features a 200-bell tower with the largest ball having the names of each IUPUI school engraved on it. [8]
The Mary E. Cable Elementary School was constructed in 1953 to replace the old School No. 4 on the site and had an addition built in 1962. [2] The school is named after Mary Ellen Cable who is known for their decades of teaching in Indiana Public Schools and civil activism in the Indianapolis area.
The finals of the 1942–43 – 1944–45 Indiana High School Boys Basketball Tournaments were held at the Coliseum. [ citation needed ] On January 25, 2019, the Horizon League announced its Men's and Women's Basketball Championships would take place at the Coliseum, starting March 9–10, 2020.
