Killing Eve is a spy thriller television series that premiered on BBC America in the United States on 8 April 2018. The series is based on the Villanelle novel series by Luke Jennings, and follows Eve Polastri (), a British intelligence investigator tasked with capturing psychopathic assassin Villanelle (Jodie Comer); as the chase progresses, the two develop a mutual obsession.
In London, Eve meets Carolyn for breakfast in a restaurant. Carolyn reveals that she knows Eve has been compiling cases that may fit her theory of a female assassin working internationally, a theory that Carolyn shares. Carolyn hires Eve to run the investigation, and introduces her to computing specialist Kenny (Sean Delaney).
Less than twelve hours after the premiere of the second series, BBC America renewed the series for a third. Suzanne Heathcote served as showrunner, [30] so that each new season of Killing Eve brought on a new female showrunner. [31] On 3 January 2020, Killing Eve was renewed for a fourth series ahead of the premiere of the third series. [4]

Eve suddenly stops and gets out of the car to talk to Villanelle, ignoring protests from Frank and Elena. Eve and a stunned Villanelle stare at each other wordlessly. Villanelle toys with Eve by faking shooting herself, then fires a warning shot to the ground near Eve's feet, and disappears into the nearby woods.
