Not really. Rebirth isn't DLC for Remake, it's a separate game. So just like all other separate games, it has its own porting process, its own playtesting, QA, scheduling, budgeting, marketing, and release planning. With the PC version of FF16 apparently imminent, why would S-E rush Rebirth PC out the door?
As much as I want them to release the ff7 Rebirth PC port (Steam) asap, they won’t do it until they’ve milked enough sales from the PS5. Expect a year to 18 months when sales for the PS5 have significantly dipped. I’m waiting for the PC port because I want to stay on one platform and don’t want to double dip.
One doesn't immediately impact the other. That said, we have confirmation FF16 is coming to PC "soon", while we have no confirmation that Rebirth's PC version is even under development. If Remake's path to the PC was any indication, the dev team is worried more about the PS5 Pro than they are the PC version.
The scale of Rebirth compared to Remake is quite large, even though reusing assets must help with porting time. There’s a quote from one the development team for Rebirth that making the game for one platform meant they could release the game a lot sooner than if they had made the game for more platforms.
Final fantasy is a flagship for square Enix, and they have exclusivity deals with Sony. My guess is rebirth will drop on PC either around the time it gets a DLC or a year or two after the DLC. It took a few years for remake to drop on PC.
Apparently FF7 Rebirth isn’t selling as well as expected, which is a travesty. Because these idiots are still pushing it into exclusivity despite knowing damn well that they're going to make a PC port anyway and that there's a huge amount of players there.
Playstation has at least a 1 year exclusivity on the games. But most likely they will come to PC. Playstation likes its games on PC because it does get people to buy their consoles so they dont have to wait. A ton of people double dip on their games. We will likely see 16 come to PC probably a little after the PS5 version has its DLC released.
I think somewhere between June and September very likely. May is too early and October will probably be packed, and they would want to get the FF7 Rebirth PC version probably spring 2025, so the two titles are nicely spaced out.
Probably S-E will give the games some time to breathe instead of releasing everything at the same time. That's the reason why FF7-REBIRTH is not expected before the end of the year, although the plans could be different. Nothing has been said
FF7 Rebirth and XVI are both gonna come on PC, but later cause Square is too comfortable trying to milk money out of all of us unfortunately. But if people doubt I can assure you they'll come on PC for the same reason they are exclusive at launch, cause they want the maximum amount of money they can get.
