Taxpayers may choose to pay their property taxes quarterly by participating in an installment payment plan. A taxpayer who chooses to pay taxes by the installment plan will make quarterly payments based on an estimated tax equal to the actual taxes levied on the property in the prior year.
Failure to pay property taxes in a timely fashion could result in the loss of the property. Florida Statutes require the Tax Collector to advertise the delinquent parcels in a local newspaper once a week for three weeks prior to the sale of a tax certificate.
