But the sale did go a little sideways, so contacting the previous owners is kind of out of the question. Everything was left in the on/active state and was functioning nominally. Your mileage will almost assuredly vary. The first step is getting your Tesla Powerwall and Gateway online. Per Tesla, this is absolutely a required step.
Powerwall 3 (No Solar) Figured I would share this for anyone who is thinking about just going the backup way, ie. no solar. I had my powerwall installed ~April time frame. Since then, I have noticed a not so insignificant increase in my overall powerbill, ~$30.
It wasn't until the new owner learned that the device needed to be continuously connected to Tesla Services to maintain the full 10-year warranty that they realized the issue. By that point, more than 4 years had passed since the installation, with 1.25 years of no connectivity, either through Wi-Fi or cellular networks.

No solar but may add some one day. With taxes and install cost, Tesla states $15,644 all in not including the federal credit. I’m in GA so zero state incentives. They list the Powerwall only cost at $8,200. Does this mean I’d be getting a 2 and not a 3? The front page says a Powerwall costs $9,300.
Tesla Powerwall - Legal Challenge. My experience with the Tesla Powerwall is likely similar to many others. When it was initially installed in early 2019, it was connected to the internet. However, as the house changed ownership, the Wi-Fi password was updated, and the new owner was unaware of the need to reconnect the Powerwall to the internet.
The powerwall-dashboard setup can log temperatures but setup is a bit involved. My south facing powerwalls average about 5 degrees F above ambient regardless of time of day. Peak powerwall temp yesterday was 102F versus a peak ambient of 96F when pumping out about 7.7KW of power per inverter. Not sure shade would have had a big impact.

The graphs will show the percentage how much you charged the vehicle either via powerwall, solar, grid or total use. You have very limited control over the Tesla Universal Wall Connector. The most you can do is if you use Time of Use to have it optimize for best time to charge. However, if you want to charge on solar only you do not really have ...
