  2. What's the pros and cons of having liquid cooler vs air?

    www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/xw186c

AIR COOLER PROS: Air coolers are more reliable by virtue of simplicity. Even a liquid cooler with a 6 year warranty is going to have very slow evaporation, and are prone to slow deaths from manufacturing errors that are not immediately apparent. Liquid coolers also have many points of failure, from the pump to the hose attachments to the fluid ...

  4. Is liquid cooling necessary? And is it hard to maintain?

    www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/r02ryf/is_liquid_cooling_necessary_and...

Liquid cooling is exactly as hard as you make it. It is significantly more expensive if you opt for a custom loop. The only extra maintenance it requires is changing the coolant. Plan accordingly and what you get in return is silence with much lower temps. A $40 air cooler dropped my temps by 10 C.

Hyper Liquid 2 series PCs boast cutting-edge technology that takes full advantage of liquid cooling’s potential. The coolant, a mixture of water and specialized additives, flows through a series of cooling blocks, absorbing heat from critical components, in this case your CPU and GPU. This heat is then transferred to a radiator, where it is ...

  6. Do liquid coolers require maintenance? : r/buildapc - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/ssnxmb/do_liquid_coolers_require_maintenance

Water cooling is recommended for the 12900k, yes. Your standard AIO will not require maintenance, no. It does have a shelf life, insofar as the pump will fail one day or too much liquid will evaporate for it to remain effective. The risk of an AIO leaking and blowing up your system is very, very low, but not zero.

Still looks the same :) I have replaced water cooling blocks as I upgraded CPU's and GPU's over the years, and I just ran the coolant through a coffee filter, to remove any particles, and refilled. I also top off 1-2 times a year with distilled water, as there's always a little coolant loss. I have checked the internals of the water blocks that ...

  10. Liquid Cooling vs Air Cooling - Which is Better? - CyberPowerPC

    www.cyberpowerpc.com/blog/liquid-cooling-vs-air-cooling

When it comes to maintenance, air cooling has a clear advantage over liquid cooling. Air coolers require minimal upkeep, grab a can of air or an electric duster and blow things out every once in a while. On the other hand, liquid cooling systems demand more attention, including regular checks for leaks, pump functionality, and coolant levels.

It's usually half aesthetics and half performance. Generally speaking, liquid cooling is a bit better than air-cooling. Gamer's Nexus did a video on it like 2 years ago that you can search up if you want. As for pump noise, this really depends on the unit, I have an EK 240mm Basic and I don't really hear the pump unless I really concentrate on ...
