CILLDE, an "indigenous educator training institute" was modeled after its American counterpart - the American Indian Language Development Institute (AILDI) [1] [2] - which itself was co-founded by language activist, Lucille Watahomigie [27] [28] and Leanne Hinton [29] [30] [31] and is now based at the University of Arizona in Tucson.
