Watching Better Call Saul on Netflix, and had to find the original song, so thanks for this! My whole life, I just thought it was Dr. Dre’s sick beats, and now my husband says, “Is Dr. Dre even really a doctor?” 😂 I was definitely doing the same thing, thinking interesting song for the scene and waiting for Eminem to start rapping 😋

For anyone familiar with the original uncut version of “My Name Is” by Eminem - I found a commercially released CD that contains this version. For anyone who doesn’t know, there’s an original version of this song that is slightly different from the album version.

Well, another problem with that album was that the main sample interpolated in "My Name Is" was originally written by (I was told) a gay activist who'd moved to South Africa, and he was not going to let us use the song unless we changed the line, "My English teacher wanted to fuck me in junior high, only problem was my English teacher was a guy."
Cuz if they played the banned version it would have said "My English teacher wanted to have sex in junior high, the only problem was my English teacher was a guy" and "Rapin Lesbians" and if they had played the explicit version it would have said "My English teacher wanted to flunk me in junior high, thanks alot next semester I'll be 35" and "Running over pedestrians in a spaceship"
The song "my name is" has the lyric "my english teacher wanted to flunk me in junior high, thanks a lot, next semester I'll be 35" Until now i thought that lyric was only in the clean version and had it in my head the lyric in the proper version was "my English teacher wanted to fuck me in junior high, only problem was my English teacher was a guy"
So "It's Eminem" is a clear logical thing to hear out of it. I don't think you can come up with 1000 other words that sound more plausible. I also don't think it's intentional, but what you say is unfoundedly dismissive.
