My 2007 Camry Hybrid has 124,000 miles on it and still has its original 12v battery in the trunk. They supposedly last 5-7 years but mine is still working fine. Toyota Hybrids are not designed to be used as a "jump start" vehicle.

Be sure the car is level when you drain and fill or you won't get it all out or back in. Use Toyota ATF WS. Be sure to loosen the fill plug first or it chugs out and makes a mess when you remove the drain plug. The whole job only takes about 10 minutes start to finish.
