The Reserve Component of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (Indonesian: Komponen Cadangan Tentara Nasional Indonesia, abbreviated as Komcad TNI) is the military reserve force of Indonesia, jointly managed under the General Headquarters of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (Tentara Nasional Indonesia or TNI) and the Indonesian Ministry of Defense (Kementerian Pertahanan).
It consists of the Army (TNI-AD), Navy (TNI-AL), and Air Force (TNI-AU). The President of Indonesia is the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. As of 2023 [update] , it comprises approximately 400,000 military personnel including the Indonesian Marine Corps ( Korps Marinir RI ), which is a branch of the Navy.
The formation of the branch was ordered by the President Joko Widodo on 3 September 2024 and currently in preparation by the Commander of the Indonesian Armed Forces, General Agus Subiyanto. [ 1 ] Once fully established, Indonesian Cyber Force will become the fourth branch of the TNI, [ 2 ] restoring the number of TNI branches to four.
