Lately I've been worried about many issues including health. I don't understand why during the day I don't have any problems, like heart racing, etc.. It only happens to me during the middle of my sleep. I fall asleep and maybe two hours later I awaken feeling lousy with nervous feeling and racing heart. So now I'm fixated on the heart issue.
Lately I've been having heart palpitations and/or my heart has been racing. I've also experienced waking up in the middle of the night with my heart pounding uncontrollably. I've noticed these symptoms are exceptionally bad right before and during my period (if, in fact, I do have a period).

It is a vasomotor response in the body and when a hot flash happens, blood flow increases in the body and sometimes causes the heart to race.
The last 3-4 weeks i have been waking up every night 2 or 3 times totally out of breath!, Heart racing like crazy!, totally disorientated and life flash backs... i Have to jump out of bed and walk to the lounge and hold onto something as to focus on not passing out and focusing on reducing my heart rate to normal.

And I suspect in yours too, since you mention exercise. Drink lots of gatorade and lay off the caffeine, alcohol and tobacco. Calcium, magnesium and potassium deficiencies can also affect heart rythm. Stress too is a big problem here. Seems when you rest the heart likes to tell you what you did wrong all day.

My heart started racing whenever I had to bend over and pick things up while doing household chores etc.. The first time was 6 years ago. I bent over and I felt my heart skip a beat then bam..my heart was racing! It scared me to death even though it only lasted about a minute, then bam, another skip and it was back to normal.
