They decided that they had to draw a line in the sand, and will not be including any more “new” tracking polls that do not have a history of polling the national horse race. This would include the Research 2000 poll, but also things like Insider Advantage, which put out some national numbers a couple of weeks ago, or the Big Ten poll ...

For example, looking at the most recent Trump vs. Biden General Election polls, there are three polls marked with an asterisk, CNBC/Change Research (D), NY Times/Siena, and JTN/RMG Research. If we now switch to the most recent 4-way polls, which include figures for the Libertarian and Green party candidates, we see that these polls are the only ...

These polls are more predictive but intentionally omit people who the pollster believes (based on historical evidence) are less likely to vote. This uses census and exit poll data, and can skew the results if an election doesn't follow historical norms. It seems that polls of "Voters" is a PPP term.

  5. Yes. Some polls showed Donald Trump with a lead. It was of course just as possible that their methodology was correct and the other polls were wrong. The real problem was not the national polls. Most polls were pretty accurate when aggregated. The RealClearPolitics polling average had Hillary Clinton up by 3.3%. The final result was Clinton up ...

    politics.stackexchange.com/questions/43062

National tracking polls tend to have a 5-day polling window (and don't poll on the weekend), and only release their polls weekly. That means you have look hard at the release date, and add something like 14 days to make sure an event is fully included in their numbers.

  10. All polls must be after June 28th. I like to look up the results of the polls as they are released (realclearpolitics) but I have no idea which pollsters are approved and (if applicable) which of their polls count. I have attempted to google this but keep finding news articles explaining the information above instead of answering this question.

    politics.stackexchange.com/questions/83674/given-there-is-no-primary-on-the...

@Riwen, If you check with RealClearPolitics which tracks individual polls presidential generals and primaries; and provides an average poll based on recent poll results. Biden is up modestly against Trump currently, at least last time I checked. Both Desantus and Haley were up against Biden in the composite polls not sure by how much.
