Standish is a disused railroad depot located at 107 North Main Street in Standish, Michigan. It was designated a Michigan State Historic Site in 1977 [ 2 ] and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991 as the Michigan Central Railroad Standish Depot .

Standish Township is a civil township of Arenac County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 1,701 at the 2020 census . [ 3 ] The city of Standish borders the township on the northwest but is administered autonomously.
Arenac County was created by the Michigan Territory on 2 March 1831, then attached on 2 March 1836 to Saginaw County for administration. The creation and organization of Bay County overlaid Arenac and annexed portions of Saginaw and Midland Counties, causing the legal elimination of Arenac County on 20 April 1857.
The building was finished in 1890 at a cost of $2970.75. [3] In 1891, a county-wide vote selected Standish as the county seat, and the county government was moved. In 1893, [ 2 ] the vacated court building was sold to the Omer Lodge of the Free and Acceptable Order of Masons for $500. [ 3 ]
