Running a 3rd level adventure. I would like the winter wolf pelt to provide something special against cold, but not sure what would be OP and how much it would cost. Previous D&D versions had such an item providing a resistance of 5 against cold damage, but also made the wearer more vulnerable to fire-based attacks.
Mastiff - The mastiff isn’t exactly bad, it’s just that a wolf does what it does but better. If a wolf is off the table, though, you could do worse than having a companion that can knock enemies prone, along with keen hearing and smell. Plus it’s a dog, and some people like dogs. The Blue Rose Adventures Guide has the Rhydan (non-humanoid psychic animals). There's a template to create them from any beast up to a certain CR, but the premade ones are Rhy-cat, Rhy-wolf, Rhy-horse, and Rhy-fen (dolphin).
White Wolf announced that they would be partnering with Modiphius Entertainment to bring Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition (V5) worldwide in English. Modiphius will be White Wolf's distribution partner, and handle distributing the game line. The image above, shared exclusively with EN World...
Going Wolf Totem is another frontline option, emphasing team damage-dealing instead of solo damage-absoprtion. Aspect of the Beast : It's Bear or bust for this feature; the added carrying capacity gives you more dragging power after you shove enemies prone (plus hilarious options for lifting characters up walls/into the air once they are grappled).
