I'd recommend the VP230 or the VP321 both have a double seal strip and use an oil pump which can pretty much run cycles non stop. Agree 100%. Get a chamber vac sealer. Any opinions on this are welcome. I have looked that site over and it appears the cheapest retort capable sealer is $1800 (MVS-20) and the chamber is quite a bit smaller than the VP215. The next jump up to get to the larger chamber is the Mvs-26x at $2395 plus the cost the sealing bar upgrade to do retort bags .

Regular vacuum sealers eventually get juices down the vacuum chamber and cause problems. It eventually breaks down and you have to buy again. The Vacmaster VP215 was the best investment I ever made for fishing to preserve the catch.
