On January 5, 2012, Crunchyroll announced it will simulcast The Knight in the Area. [3] The series aired between January 7, 2012, and September 28, 2012, on TV Asahi. [4] [5] The episodes used Higher Ground (ハイヤーグラウンド, Haiyā Guraundo) by S.R.S as the opening theme. [1]
The Knight in the Area (Japanese: エリアの騎士, Hepburn: Eria no Kishi) is a Japanese manga series written by Hiroaki Igano and illustrated by Kaya Tsukiyama. It was serialized in Kodansha's shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Magazine from April 2006 to March 2017, with its chapters collected in 57 tankōbon volumes.
A two-episode mini anime adaptation of the series was announced on October 31, 2020. The first episode was streamed on November 7, 2020, on Comic Fire's official Twitter account, followed by the second episode on November 14.
There were 232 episodes aired during Season 1, which ended on February 25, 2012. Season 2 began airing on March 4, 2012, ended on December 15, 2013, and had 89 episodes. Season 3 began airing on December 22, 2013, ended on March 10, 2019, and had 257 episodes. Season 4 began airing on December 8, 2019, and currently has aired 201 episodes.
A third season of the anime series and an OVA episode were both announced on September 27, 2019. The second OVA episode was released on January 29, 2020. [ 11 ] The third season was originally scheduled to start broadcasting in July 2020, but the anime production committee delayed the broadcast to "October or later" due to the effects of COVID-19.
